LAGUNENTOUR
Die Einreise in das fünfte Land unserer Reise, Bolivien, gestaltete sich nicht ganz so einfach. Nicht etwa, dass uns die Grenzbeamten nicht reinlassen wollten, nein im Gegenteil, es war erst gar kein Grenzbeamter in der Station! An der Uhrzeit konnte es nicht liegen und Feiertag war auch keiner, doch ein dickes Schloss hing an der Tür und gab uns Rätsel auf. Wie sollten wir denn nun unsere Einreisestempel erhalten?
Warten würde auch nichts nützen und da weit und breit niemand zu sehen war, beschlossen wir zum 5 km entfernt liegenden Nationalparkeingang zu fahren, um dort nachzufragen.
Und auf wen trafen wir dort? Auf den „sternhagelvollen“ Grenzbeamten, der es sich jedoch selbst in seinem angeheiterten Zustand nicht nehmen ließ, am Steuer seines Toyotas vor uns her zurück zum Grenzhäuschen zu fahren. Während er sich in Schlangenlinien den Berg hoch quälte, hielten wir die Spur und waren im Grenzhäuschen erfreut, dass er alle Formalitäten korrekt ausführen konnte. Natürlich hat er die 15 Bolivianos Einreisegebühr nicht vergessen! Für den Zoll des „G´s“ und des Motorrades war er jedoch nicht verantwortlich und verwies uns an entsprechende Stelle 40 km weiter. So weit wollten wir an diesem Tag aber nicht mehr fahren und verschoben den Zoll auf den nächsten Tag. Nachdem wir dann wieder am Parkeingang vorbeikamen und den Eintritt gezahlt hatten, ging es also endlich los zur „Lagunentour“ im bolivianischen Hochland.
Das Besondere, neben der faszinierenden Natur, ist an dieser Strecke die Höhe auf der man ständig unterwegs ist (zwischen 4000 und 5050 m). Und das haben wir auch sogleich gemerkt. Eigentlich dachten wir, dass wir einigermaßen gut akklimatisiert wären und hatten bei der letzten Passüberquerung keine Probleme. Allerdings ist eine Überquerung noch einmal etwas ganz anderes als der Aufenthalt in der Höhe. So sollten wir in der ersten Nacht merken, was es heißt auf 4407 Höhenmetern zu schlafen. Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Herzklopfen, Erschöpfung und Müdigkeit waren unsere Symptome, die alle in unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen und Vorkommnissen zu beklagen hatten.
An unserem ersten Stopp, dem Salar de Chalviri mit einer heißen Quelle, waren die Jungs noch so fit und sind nach den Abendessen in den Hot Pot gegangen. Ich habe allerdings das Entspannen im Bett bevorzugt und mein „Herz“ geschont!
Am nächsten Morgen hatten wir als erstes Ziel den bolivianischen Zoll und sind auf 5050 Meter Höhe gefahren, um im dortigen Arsenabbaugebiet mit nebenliegenden Zoll unsere Formalitäten für die Fahrzeuge zu erledigen. Ein Wahnsinn, den Zoll auf so eine Höhe zu verlegen. Doch der eigentliche Wahnsinn war ein Fußballfeld auf dieser Höhe- höchstwahrscheinlich nur mit Kokablättern kauen zu bewältigen. Uns jedenfalls brachte bereits jeder normale Schritt zum „Japsen“ und an Aktivitäten war gar nicht zu denken!
Mit Hilfe von einigen GPS- Punkten fuhren wir danach weiter durch das Altiplano und waren froh, diese Punkte zu besitzen. Denn eine gut sichtbare, ausgebaute Piste oder gar eine Beschilderung gibt es in diesem Gebiet nicht. Man könnte sich vielleicht an den Fahrspuren orientieren oder an den Toyota Landcruisern der Touristentouren, doch ob die in die Richtung führen/ fahren, in welche man selbst möchte, ist fraglich.
Also verließen wir uns auf das GPS und fuhren mit Rock im Schlepptau durch sagenhafte, imposante Landschaft. Unterwegs kam uns tatsächlich, neben den „gebuchten“ Toyotas, ein „Reise-Toyota“ mit Esther und Klaus-Peter aus der Schweiz entgegen und das war eine willkommene Pause zum Unterhalten. Sie berichteten, dass der Salar de Uyuni komplett unter Wasser stände und machten unsere Hoffnungen, ihn zu befahren, zunichte. Trotz der momentanen Regenzeit hatten wir immer noch gehofft, ihn befahren zu können, doch nach dieser Info wollten wir das unserem „G“ und uns nicht antun und haben eine andere Route eingeschlagen.
Wir sind weiter zur Laguna Colorado, deren Wasser aufgrund kupferhaltiger Mineralien rötlich gefärbt ist. Dazu kommt Algengrün und weiße Borax-Inseln und zusammen mit den blauen Himmel, den rosa Flamingos und dem gelben Andengras erscheint alles in einer tollen Farbpalette.
Das gesamte Gebiet südwestlich von Uyuni bis zur chilenischen Grenze ist übersät mit Salaren und Seen und mit den schneebedeckten Gipfeln und Vulkanen rundherum ergibt das alles ein einmaliges Bild und Erlebnis. So wählten wir den zweiten Schlafplatz erneut an einer Lagune, der Laguna Honda auf 4670 m und nutzen ein verfallenes Haus als Windschutz. Schließlich war es auch ohne den starken Wind kalt genug und das Thermometer zeigte uns in der Nacht 0 Grad!
Nach dem Zusammenpacken in gemächlichem Tempo starteten wir am nächsten Tag in Richtung der sagenhaften Felsformationen und wunderten uns, wieso und weshalb diese Gebilde nicht einstürzten?! Über sandige Passagen und holprige Pisten ging es weiter Richtung Nordosten und auf einmal erreichten wir ganz unverhofft eine gut ausgebaute Piste. Das hätten wir ja nun gar nicht erwartet und freuten uns umso mehr darüber. Besonders aber Rock, der mit dem Motorrad ganz schön zu kämpfen hatte. Eine gute Tat an diesem Tag konnten wir auch noch erledigen, indem wir zwei bolivianischen Mopedfahrern mit entsprechendem Werkzeug auf der Strecke aushalfen und kamen gegen Nachmittag in Uyuni an.
