Seltsame Überschrift- nicht wahr?! Aber wir versuchen zu erklären, was passiert ist! Nachdem wir Antwerpen verlassen hatten, war unser planmäßiges Ziel Le Havre in der Normandie, wo wir am Freitagmorgen im Hafen eingelaufen sind. Der Lotse war bereits an Bord, als die “Grande Francia” durch eine Schleuse fahren musste. Und obwohl die Schleuse um einiges größer war als die in Tilbury, haben es die Herren auf der Brücke tatsächlich geschafft, an der Schleusenmauer anzustoßen.
Vielleicht war die Absprache zwischen Kapitän und dem Lotsen nicht korrekt, da wir beobachten konnten, wie sie abwechselnd und uneinig ein und denselben Hebel bedient haben.
Sicher, hinterher ist man immer schlauer, doch als wir schräg in die Schleuse eingefahren sind, haben wir uns schon über diese Steuerung gewundert. Gewundert haben wir uns auch über das Schwanken im Folgenden, doch mit einem Anstoßen an der Hafenmauer haben wir das in dem Moment noch nicht in Verbindung gebracht.
Erst später, als wir in der Schleuse standen und der Kapitän vom Land aus das Schiff begutachtet hat, hat uns einer der Offiziere über das “Loch” aufgeklärt!
Keiner wusste so recht, welche Ausmaße das Ganze hat und wie es weitergehen würde und die Rede war von einer 2-Meter-Delle im Bug auf der Steuerbordseite (knapp über der Wasserlinie), die auch einen Riss hätte.
Der normale Hafenvorgang mit Be- und Entladen wurde gestartet, doch uns gestattete man nicht von Bord zu gehen. Schade, so konnten wir uns die Stadt nicht anschauen und die einzige “Attraktion” von Le Havre war das Ausfliegen des Lotsen per Helikopter!
Dafür hatten sie am nächsten Morgen eine ganz besondere Überraschung für uns: wir würden nach Southampton fahren, um dort das Loch reparieren zu lassen! Warum nun gerade Southampton, wissen wir bis jetzt immer noch nicht und der Kapitän hält sich in diesem Fall leider sehr mit Informationen zurück. Wen wundert´s?!
Nun sind wir also eine Woche und einen Tag unterwegs, haben London, Antwerpen und den Hafen von Le Havre gesehen und sitzen jetzt für unbestimmte Zeit in Southampton fest (741 Kilometer Luftlinie nach Kassel!!!).
