DAKAR UND BANJUL
Am Mittwoch (11. Oktober 2006) erreichten wir um die Mittagszeit die Hauptstadt des Senegals, Dakar und konnten hier überraschenderweise recht schnell in den Hafen einlaufen und anlegen.
Was im folgenden weniger schnell war, waren die Zollformalitäten und so blieben uns nur noch ungefähr drei Stunden Zeit, um von Bord zu gehen und uns die Stadt anzuschauen. Doch um einen kurzen Eindruck zu erhalten waren diese Stunden wenigstens etwas!
Kaum waren wir mit (fast) gesamter Passagiergruppe von Bord gegangen, fing schon das Ansprechen, Handeln und Anpreisen von den verschiedensten Waren an. Zunächst davon unbeeindruckt, hat es dann doch schließlich ein Senegalese geschafft, sich an unsere Fersen zu heften und uns die Stadt zu zeigen. Und im Nachhinein war es auch gut so, denn diese Runde wären wir sicherlich nicht von alleine gegangen.
Vorbei am Bahnhof, entlang der „Schwarzmarktstraße“ passierten wir verschiedene Moscheen und auch eine große Kirche, in der gerade eine Beerdigungsfeier stattgefunden hat. Als nächstes führte er uns durch den wohlhabenderen Teil Dakars bis zum Präsidentenpalast und anderen verschiedenen Regierungsgebäuden.
Die Zeit, um wieder zurück an Bord zu gehen war gekommen und so schlugen wir nach einem interessanten Rundgang den Weg zur „Grande Francia“ ein.
Obwohl es bis Banjul (Hauptstadt von Gambia), unserem nächsten Stopp auf der inzwischen vierwöchigen Schiffsreise (!) nur ungefähr 160 km waren, wurde es 15 Uhr am nächsten Tag (am Donnerstag 12.10.2006) bis wir an einem sehr kleinem Pier in Banjul anlegen konnten. Diesmal waren aber keine Zollgeschichten die Ursache der Warterei, sondern die fehlende Flut!
Als uns diese schließlich genügend Wasser zum Einlaufen „brachte“, waren wir erstaunt, wie klein der Hafen von Banjul war. Es gab lediglich zwei kleine Stellen zum Anlegen und unser Schiff füllte mit seiner Größe den kompletten Pier aus. Sicherlich war die „Grande Francia“ dreimal so groß, wie das größte Haus in Banjul.
Da es leider schon zu spät für einen Landgang war, beobachteten wir das Treiben von Deck aus und auch das war ein Spektakel! Jedenfalls wissen wir nun, wo die vielen schrottreifen Autos, die in Europa niemals mehr über den TÜV kommen, ihr Ende fristen. Und sich das wirkliche „Ende“ noch Jahre hinauszögern wird! Echt irre, was da so von Bord gefahren, geschoben und geschubst wurde!
In den afrikanischen Häfen wird es von der Crew so gehandhabt, dass sie selber die Autos von Bord fahren und niemanden der Einheimischen an Bord lassen. Das ist auch beruhigender für uns und bis jetzt ist mit unseren Fahrzeugen alles ok. Zum Glück, denn wir haben schon ganz andere Sachen gehört.
Erst am nächsten Tag gegen Mittag konnten wir auslaufen und als wir die Sandbänke gesehen haben, wussten wir auch um das berechtigte Warten auf die Flut!
Am Freitag den 13. ging es also weiter in Richtung Conakry (Guinea) und nach 600 km sollte dort ein neuer Hafen auf uns warten.

Bond erfährt inzwischen, dass die Internationale Mütterhilfe in Berlin von SMERSH betrieben wird,
und entschließt sich, seine uneheliche Tochter Mata Bond (aus der Liebschaft mit Mata Hari)
auf die Organisation anzusetzen. Im Hauptquartier erhält Tremble vom Waffenmeister
„Q“ für seine Mission eine Armbanduhr mit eingebauter Fernsehkamera sowie eine schusssichere Weste.
Nach einer (zumindest angedeuteten) Liebesnacht testet Vesper Trembles
Verkleidungsfähigkeiten (als Hitler, Napoleon und Toulouse-Lautrec) und heuert ihn an, um den vermeintlichen Chef von SMERSH, den berüchtigten Le Chiffre,
im Baccara zu besiegen.
